All the 'rules' and 'restrictions' and variety of elements and subjects can truly get overwhelming after the initial 'infatuation' phase has past and reality hits you. Remember we teach our kids from a young age for many years. It is a more slow process for some.... and take all the time you need, as long as you are moving forward. A Shaykh of vast experience with reverts will guide you correctly. Seek them out, through Muslims that you know. Those learned specific Shuyugh (plural of Shaykh) know how to guide you, at whatever stage and situation you are at. (Rare times, there are different answers to different people asking the exact same question even, and that Shaykh knows exactly what to say one-on-one, specific to you and your situation) Please.... new Muslim/Muslimah..... feel relieved..... feel heard..... feel understood..... seek out your specific brothers and sisters in Islam.... they will link up with you. You are not alone.
